This time of year is usually quite remarkable at the market. Thankfully, the recent rains have created magnificent the blooms in our area. (And rhubarb aplenty!)

Here are some pics from our local farmer's market. Hope they help inspire! 

Behind the Apron TIP: Prep, prep, prep!

We came across this procedure in a cookbook circa 1951. Follow this when making cakes at home from scratch!

1. Read the recipe. Every word!

2. Turn on and set the oven.

3. Assemble ingredients. (Ingredients should be at room temperature)

4. Assemble utensils

5. Prepare the pans

6. Sift flour. Measure ingredients.

7. Always measure on the level

DIY Recipe: Chocolate Kaluha Cake

Although from scratch is always best, sometimes you need to fall back on your chocolate cake mix in your pantry! (You should always have at least one, in case of emergencies!). 

Here is a delicious recipe for a scrumptious chocolate Kaluhua Cake, that is as moist as it is simple!! (Recipe after the jump!)

"Paint Them Red Velvet" Alice in Wonderland cupcakes!

Always a fan of themed parties, Team LP could not resist the challenge of "Alice in Wonderland" cupcakes. These bridal shower cupcakes were "paint them red velvet" with cream cheese frosting. Enjoy the photos!
