Peanut, peanut butter and jelly CAKE! (+cupcakes!)

What is better than a surprise party? A themed surprise party! Since the birthday girl's favorite colors are pink and orange, and gave up chocolate for lent, Team LP wanted to come up with something super creative. 

 

We started by making coconut cupcakes with an island inspired coconut banana buttercream.  As for the cake, we decided to make an absolutely delicious peanut butter mousse for a peanut butter and jelly cake. We layered vanilla cake with the pb mousse, and (seedless) raspberry jam and raspberry buttercream. We fashioned marshmallows in the shapes of a giraffe and an elephant in honor of her upcoming African voyage for on top of the cake.
