Trick or Treat! Give me something good to eat!!

Is there a better combination than chocolate and peanut butter? We cannot think of one. Perhaps it's our affinity for Reese's Pieces or simply a spoon and a jar of crunchy Peter Pan peanut butter, but these cupcakes take the cake for the most tasty Halloween cupcakes by far. The bats are compliments of Edward Cullen, of course, even though he never takes flight in the Twilight saga.  HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

“It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood…."

Taking one look outside, it is clear that it is autumn is upon us!! The air is crisp, and the trees are beautiful shades of yellow and orange.  This is the part of the year when living up North has its advantages over the South.  

In preparation for November, we are made Autumn Harvest pumpkin filled spice cupcakes with homemade sweet potato buttercream frosting. Topped with pecans, these delicious little cakes is perfect with a nice warm cup of tea, while sitting by the fire with friends and family.

For baby Jonas's safari-themed baby shower, this TWELVE layer blue velvet cake (yes, twelve!!) featured monkeys hanging from the palm tree, ready to party!

Happy Birthday, Grandma!!

While cupcakes are a handy delicious treat, nothing announces a celebration more than a cake. In honor of my grandmother's 90th birthday on Friday, we made this scrumptious lemon angel food cake. With lemon cream cheese frosting, it's light and airy texture was a great finish to our meal.
